Boris R. Merculief

Occupation: Member of the Board
Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association

Professional Registration, Activities and Memberships: Boris is the longstanding Chairman of the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association and chairs the Aleutian-Pribilof Heritage Group Inc., an organization dedicated to restoration of historic churches and thir furnishings. He is also active in the St. George community.


Matthew Nicolai

Professional Registration, Activities and Memberships: Matthew is active in the Rotary Clubs, Commonwealth North and the Providence Foundation. He was Chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board and a member of the Alaska Native Heritage Center Board and in 1999 he received the distinguished Eagle Scout award. In 1994 Matthew participated in the White House Presidential meeting with Indian leaders and with the White House Listening Conference with Departmental Secretary's of the Executive Branch of U.S. Government. In 1991 he received the Boys & Girls Club Volunteer Award. In 1985 he was affiliated with the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies and received Recognition of Service in Washington D.C.


Dorothy Gray

Occupation: Educator

Experience: Dorothy Gray is a lifelong educator and currently the director of the Alaska State Writing Consortium, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the writing skills of Alaskan teachers and their students. She is also a lifelong member of the Russian Orthodox Church and the secretary of the Kenai Parish Council. Dorothy
helped initiate and direct the 1998 restoration of the Russian Orthodox rectory,
one of the oldest buildings on the Kenai Peninsula. In addition,
Dorothy serves as treasurer of the Lee Shore Center, a non-profit organization for abused women and children in Kenai.

Judy Bittner

Occupation: State Historic Preservation Officer, Section Chief, Office of History and Archaeology, Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation, State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources.

Experience: As the Alaska State Historic Preservation Officer, Judy has provided technical assistance and program support for the preservation of Alaska's heritage resources for the past 19 years. She is an anthropologist with emphasis in archaeology and cultural anthropology.

Activities and Membership: Judy has been actively involved in local, state, and national historic preservation organizations. They include the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers, Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, National Trust for Historic Preservation Board of Advisors, Cook Inlet Historical Society, Alaska Association for Historic Preservation, Alaska Historical Commission, Alaska Historic Records Advisory Board, and the Iditarod National Historic Trail Inc.
