The Holy Assumption Orthodox Church of Kenai Alaska is one of Alaska’s most visited National Historic Landmarks. ROSSIA has been working through detailed, high quality preservation of this church since 2008.
Built in 1894, this unique church is located in Alaska’s capital city, Juneau. ROSSIA’s work in Juneau has seen the completion of phase 1 of the preservation work for St. Nicholas.
|HOLY ASCENSION CATHEDRAL
ROSSIA is proud to announce beginning work on the Holy Ascension Cathedral through our Rasmuson Tier 2 grant of 2013. ROSSIA worked to preserve the Bishop’s house early in the organization’s history, and the next phase of restoration will begin with fire suppression.
|ASCENSION OF OUR LORD
This page is dedicated to Bill McGrew whose interest in the preservation of this church led to the founding of ROSSIA. The Ascension of Our Lord Chapel is located in Karluk, Alaska on the northwest shore of Kodiak Island facing Shelikof Straight. It is majestic example of the Orthodox churches in Alaska.
|SAINT SERGIUS OF RADONEZH
St. Sergius of Radonezh is located in Chuathbaluk, Alaska along the Kuskokwim River. The church was chosen by ROSSIA as one of the Top Ten to focus their efforts on for the role it plays in the local communities surrounding it.
